I truly love AST and have met so many amazing girls that are genuinely my best friends. All of the girls I’ve met are just all around beautiful, smart, and kind hearted at their core and that’s something I’ve learned can be hard to find when going to such a big school. In all honesty the people in this chapter I connected with were one of the main reasons I ended not transferring, and now because of them I can say I love JMU and my forever friends more than anything. I know AST gets lost in the herd of other chapters sometimes being ‘ranked’ somewhere in the ‘middle tier’ but I just wanted to spread the love here where it’s deserved. Despite the million different opinions on this site, for me this comment is my heartfelt and real experience with this amazing chapter and the girls in it.

The Brooklyn Bridge is an iconic suspension bridge that connects the boroughs of Manhattan and Brooklyn in New York City. It spans the East River and was completed in 1883. Here are some key points about the Brooklyn Bridge: 1. Design and Construction: The bridge was designed by John A. Roebling, a German-born engineer. After his death, his son Washington Roebling took over the project. Washington's wife, Emily Roebling, played a crucial role in the bridge's completion due to Washington's illness. 2. Engineering Feat: At the time of its completion, the Brooklyn Bridge was the longest suspension bridge in the world, with a main span of 1,595.5 feet (486.3 meters). It was also one of the first bridges to use steel for its cable wires. 3. Architectural Style: The bridge is known for its Gothic-style towers made of limestone, granite, and Rosendale cement. These towers have pointed arches that add to its majestic appearance. 4. Cultural Significance: The Brooklyn Bridge is not just a vital transportation link but also a cultural symbol. It has been featured in numerous films, books, and artworks. It's a popular spot for tourists and locals alike. 5. Pedestrian Walkway: The bridge includes a pedestrian walkway above the vehicle lanes, offering spectacular views of the New York City skyline and the East River. This walkway is a favorite for walkers, joggers, and cyclists. 6. Historical Impact: The completion of the Brooklyn Bridge was a significant event in the history of New York City, symbolizing the city's growth and technological progress. It has been designated a National Historic Landmark. The Brooklyn Bridge remains a testament to 19th-century engineering and continues to be a vital part of New York City's infrastructure and a beloved landmark.
