Odds of COB this year

Here's what I would do if I was a PNM right now:

-there is ZERO chance any house will do fall cob. cross that off your list.
-there is ZERO chance pi phi will recruit this year. cross that off your list, too. slim chance they survive after this year anyway.
-I would give aphi about a 10% chance of recruiting this year. there is ZERO chance of you getting an invitation to cob, much less a bid, if they have not contacted you individually already
-I would give theta about a 25% chance of recruiting this year. same as aphi--there is ZERO chance of you getting a bid if they have not contacted you individually already
-I would give axo about a 25% chance of recruiting this year. however, their cob is a much more open process. their cob is advertised on social media and you might still get a bid even if they haven't contacted you individually

I know this sounds harsh but I don't make the rules. this is just how these houses operate. they dirty rush and always have--90% of you were off the list before rush even started. don't shoot the messenger.

-there is ZERO chance of dg or kappa doing cob this year. if you still have either of these houses and you like them, then take them. odds are you won't get a "better" house this year, even if another house has reached out, unless you are willing to wait until fall 2022. if you don't like either of them, drop and give that spot to someone who wants it.
-I would give adpi about a 75% chance of doing cob this year. if you still have this house and you like it, take it. if you have hesitations about this house and want to see what happens with cob, there's a risk you have to be willing to take that they might not do cob this year
-there is a 100% chance that gphi will do cob this year. if you still have this house and you like it, take it. if you want to wait and see what happens with cob, you're odds are good that there will still be a chance for you later in the year to revisit it.

Sorority Active—This is the BEST ADVICE I’ve read so far!!

PNMs: read this and strongly consider following it…you won’t go wrong.
Besides, there is NOTHING WRONG with any of the 4 sororities still in recruitment.
At least TWO of them are National powerhouses—

But ultimately: go with your heart and gut; leave your ego and vanity out of it…

this is full of lies and misinformation and is clearly an attempt to scare you into staying in rush right now.
if you like your houses and see yourself being a member, then continue the process. if not, there will be other informal opportunities this year.

this is excellent advice, pnms, i STRONGLY urge you listen and take their advice. the only reason i would say differently is if you are willing to wait until next fall. juniors, remember you can't rush as a senior so listen up!!

this is very much a scare tactic by one of the houses still in recruitment...

not even a smart one, bc if someone accepts your bid bc they think other houses won't be doing COB and then those houses DO end up doing COB they're just going to drop your house, or end up resenting it


Treat this like any other recruitment. If you can see yourself in at least one of the houses you pref at, sign the MRABA. If not, withdraw. It's not about the other chapters, it's about the options you have in front of you right now.

aphi can’t recruit this year because they’ve been contacting pnms intimidating them out of doing formal recruitment in the fall so they’re pretty much as out of question as pi phi is. If they contacted u that doesn’t mean that ur getting a bid lol. theta has an open cob process and took a ton of girls last cob cycle and they advertised it openly on their Instagram just like axo did. stop making it seem like they dirty rush. axo and theta will most likely be able to cob this year but not this fall. aphi and pi phi are out. for good.
