The burden shouldn’t be on the members of color to educate the rest of the house. I think how diverse all of the officers are is more telling of whether a sorority actually cares about diversity & inclusion and supports its members of color

Did you ever think that maybe a POC did not want to be a diversity exec officer? POC deal with suppression and racism everyday and it is not their job to have a diversity education position because of the color of their skin. Obviously, the position is open to anyone and everyone in the chapter but you cannot force someone to hold that position because they’re a minority. Maybe look at the chapters who have a diverse group of members because that speaks volume when it comes to inclusiveness and diversity educations. Diverse chapters value the suggestions, opinions, and concerns of all members especially minorities because they strive to have a chapter that is accepting, welcoming, and values equality.

having a non-white or white diversity officer is an irrelevant way to judge whether or not a house is diverse. it’s about the house overall and all the members in it, not one person.

The houses that "showcase" their diversity are the ones that are most concerned about their lack of diversity and inclusion. They recognize their reputation as being non-inclusive and tokenize certain members to make their chapter seem more inclusive than it actually is......

pi phi’s diversity officer is a woman of color. but like everyone else said, that doesn’t mean anything and that position isn’t members of color’s responsibility.
