dropping a sorority and rushing again?

by:

anyone know if it would look bad if someone dropped a sorority and rushed informally in spring (if that’s possible) or next year? i don’t feel like i’m fitting with my sorority but i also don’t want to seem mean/rude if i try to rush for another sorority.

have you been initiated? once you're initiated you can't join another sorority.

I'm sure others are feeling the same as you, but give it some time!

one of my friends who's in a sorority said it is possible to drop and re rush but only if you haven't been pledged and initiated. she said it's not awkward at all and she's had convos during recruitment with girls who dropped the sorority she was in and were rerushing! sometimes the process doesn't work out the first time but only drop if you're really sure you don't fit with your current sorority

The above posts are correct, if you’ve been initiated, then no you can’t
Keep in mind you’ll probably like your house more when we can actually do things again

If you have been initiated then your are stuck in that chapter or you can drop Greek life completely. You can also transfer schools and transfer into the same chapter at the new school.

If you haven’t been initiated then you can totally re-rush. I wouldn’t personally tell anyone that you are “re-rushing” during recruitment because then it seems like you don’t want to fully commit to a chapter that wanted you. Just drop and stay quiet then re rush and act like it’s your first time.
