rush is so mentally toxic
by: .my mental health was doing so amazing this past month and rush has seriously affected it. I told myself going into this i wouldnt cry or take anything to heart like i’ve seen some girls do but wow. i feel like this is so easy for those girls on insta that have a perfect feed and are followed by all the sorority’s and they probably got called back to every house. i’m trying not to compare myself but it’s hard. part of me wishes i never got involved in this, but it’s still helping me grow in some way ig. i’m gonna stick it out even tho i know if i don’t get any houses on pref day roll call it’s gonna take a toll on me

i feel exactly the same ur not alone this is not fun. i really don’t know if i want to be apart of any greek life after this. idk it’s kinda messed up when you think about it, the whole system is based on joining houses that reject other people to be “exclusive” to their members. inclusivity is so important !! i’m trying to see the good in their “process” but even places i had amazing conversations with dropped me. i can’t see how it wasn’t extremely superficial this year.

I’m currently a member in a chapter at UCSB. The recruitment processes is so mentally draining. I promise you don’t need to be in a sorority to make friends Isla vista is such an amazing community. If you’re at home IV it’s going to be so great when you get here. I can say I loved all of my conversations with the girls I had the opportunity to speak with unfortunately we only get about 3 minutes to vote on our party’s. Don’t take this processes to seriously. It’s basically based off of if you had things in common with the girls you talked to that day especially the first day like major or home town or sports. Don’t let this processes affect your mental health. I’ll check this thread in the future and if you comment back you’re more than welcome to come over and be friends with us!
