by: AnonI just want to give an honest account of my personal history with Aphi. I rushed last year and was really put off by their general demeanor and behavior. Seemed very disengenous compared to the other sororities I visited, and pretty much refused to pay me much attention. I'm not the prettiest girl, but to have an entire room essentially ignore you based on looks really hurt, especially given that the other sororities were so kind and inviting. Really revealed how superficial they are.

And just to add, I wouldn't typically be compelled to share this story online, though the general influx of similar stories on here makes me really frustrated to see. I don't think it's valuable to dish out such harsh criticism as some do but I think this sorority should genuinely reflect on the impact of their attitudes on this community as a whole. The feeling of rejection I felt really lingered with me and seemed so contrary to the notion of an inviting sisterhood of friends; it felt instead like the real emphasis was on creating a sisterhood of physically attractive people.
