by: PledgeI just pledged pi phi, and even though I do think I will be happy there, I can't shake the fact that they aren't considered a 'cool' sorority even though I really liked some of the sisters I met tonight. I don't want people to judge me negatively just because I'm in a certain sorority, I want to be able to be proud to wear my letters. I also can't help but feel inferior to my friends who went 'top three', especially Alpha Phi because I have wanted to be a sister there since the beginning of freshman year. I also don't want to be judged by different frats who think they are 'too cool'to mix with us, and even though it's superficial it does hurt to be cast aside like that.

if you think you will be happy there, stick with it. top 3 are only by looks, does not mean all the girls there are the top 3 happiest. there are lots of drama. i hope you are happy and think less about what people think of you. if you want to party with frat bros, you can still do that. if you're cool, you're cool, no matter what they say.

Being in a sorority is about finding a group of women who will love and cherish you, and Pi Phi's sisterhood is so strong and will make your college experience so much better. I don't know who you are, but I promise you that all of the sisters are extremely excited to have you and would be sad to see you go. As to whether Pi Phi makes you uncool...People will judge you as an individual. Pi Phis party and go out just as much as anyone else (especially off campus!), and they are all proud to be Pi Phis. I was concerned about what people would think of me when I joined Pi Phi, but I find that it literally has changed nothing about how people perceive me. It has only enhanced my college experience for the better, and I couldn't imagine life without my sisters. Please, Please give Pi Phi a chance!

Not a Pi Phi, and telling you, I used to think they are uncool, but I got to meet a bunch of them this past year, and they are super sweet! There are some that party, some that don't. Some weird, but some so awesome I want to be best friends with them instantly. Just find your people and you will be happy!

I'm in one of those "Top 3" sororities, and let me tell you that my sisterhood is nowhere near as close as Pi Phis. I'm totally jealous of the girls my year in Pi Phi who all have each others' backs constantly and are best friends. Reputations change yearly; you want to stick with the girls who make you feel at home. Give it a chance!!

the "top three" are just based on average looks, and every sorority has it's pick of black sheep. no sorority has perfect girls, physical appearance and personality wise. choose a sorority based on your connection with sisters during recruitment, not because of reputation. if people treat you differently because of rep, stay far away from them; they are poisonous and you don't need them in your life.

If you're on the fence, give it a shot! You can always drop later if you really think it's not right for you. Just want to defend my sorority though - I'm in one of the "top three" and our sisterhood is incredibly strong. We actually do (for the most part) really like each other and get along. Not true of all the sororitys, but it's really not like we all hate each other.

Pi Phi is incredibly up and coming, considering they're the second newest sorority on campus. They're incredible nationally and the girls are great, everyone is super close with each other. They're going to be more social soon in terms of frat life, but they all rage hard off campus anyway. If anyone looks down on you for being in a certain sorority, especially after they meet you, then they're clearly not worth your time
