is it hard to get a bid??
by: rushI'm thinking about rushing in the spring and don't know anything about sororities.....is it difficult to get a bid from either alpha phi or phi mu or does everyone basically get in where they want?? I've heard it was basically the girl's choice here

Both APhi and Phi Mu are very picky because they are two top and most popular sororities this year. Most girls put them as their first choice but they obviously can't take everyone. It is unofficial but if you are pretty, involved on campus and have something that makes you stand out (hopkins athelete) - your chances are good. They can also check your GPA, good grades are important too. Consider Kappa, they are climbing and they are one of the highest ranked sorority on the national level, followed by APhi.

the top two as of right now are Aphi and Kappa. If you are pretty and involved you'll probably end up in Aphi. If you're pretty and chill you'll probably end up in kappa. Aphi tends to be the queen b type girls and kappas are the chill nice girls. either way you can't go wrong.

My biggest suggestion is to go into rush with an open mind. There are great girls in every sorority and you should choose based on the connections you make during recruitment rather than ranking. Once you graduate, no one is going to know or care if you were in the top or bottom sorority. All that's going to matter is the friends and memories you made. So go in with an open mind and don't worry too much. You'll find where you belong.
