advice for male new student
by: new studentHey guys, I am an incoming regular decision student and I am interested in the greek life at hopkins. I've looked at a few threads I got the vibe that phi psi is the best frat and the others don't even seem like real frats at all. So as an incoming freshman, does that mean trying to get into phi psi parties really hard? Also, other than phi psi, greek life seems pretty dead. Is it worth rushing at all? Would I still be able to get into parties if I didn't rush/are frats parties generally inclusive or exclusive?

it’s still very hard to have a good social life if ur not in Greek life. Parties at upper tier frats r kinda exclusive especially as a guy. During O week and such you’ll be going to like sig chi and phi delt parties. But during the fall you’ll def slip thru the cracks of the over inflated egos of the phi psi brothers on door during parties. Sure phi psi might be the “coolest” frat and the “top” whatever that means but that’s not how u pick a frat. You join a frat because you like the guys and you like the pledge class that you will be a part of. Fiji is also a good option. They have a very different vibe than phi psi and tbh if ur a Fiji guy in phi psi or a phi psi guy who joins Fiji you’ll probably deep down want to switch. Bottom line: join a frat. Meet brothers at all frats. Decide not based off rankings on this website
