this process seems wrong

by:

It just does. Watching girls crying because they were cut from all sororities the first night, and reading things like "you were probably cut for a reason" is crazy. You get like 1 minute to make an "I'm hot" impression...and decisions seem to based on whether girl's shoes and hair are done the way all of the girls in x sorority do them. Good luck to all of those rushing. Don't take the results too seriously, because the rush system is the problem--not you.

Strats are competitive.. Some cuts and easiest cuts are lowest gpas. Not personal, just easiest to measure.

Sorority gpa requirements are not that high (around a 2.5-2.8). If you can’t meet the requirement, it’s probably for the best that you don’t join a sorority because your time should be focused on getting your grades up and taking care of yourself.

Sororities aren’t big time commitments and can help your gpa but you have to be mature enough to focus on school.

Once you join, there are so many social events (mixers, date parties, formals, girl dates) to tempt you and if you don’t have a firm grip of time management and knowing how to prioritize your education.

I’ve also never heard of a girl being cut from all the sororities. I’m not sure that’s even possible because of the system. Your friend wasn’t being completely honest here.

There are girls that get cut by everyone, but usually they don’t know about it because a sorority with lower retention will have to pick them up when too many people drop them.
