elmo's early bid

Whats the deal with elmos early bids? Why do they give out bids well before formal rush? How many do they give out

Do phi psi Fiji or others give out early too ???

elmo's is like underground or whatever and take a small pc so they give out first, the other frats do theirs during formal recruitment second semester, but usually they all (at least phi psi and fiji) have a good idea what their pc is going to look like in december

They’re also just kinda desperate for guys and try to “lock in” freshman. In past years a good portion of the kids who took Elmo’s early bids ended up in other frats

What they do is give early bids to a few of the coolest freshman knowing that hopefully some of them will accept the early bid and at least one will actually stick with it (though sometime like someone said they lost all of them). Anyways it’s just a way of them showing interest in you well before other frats do anything of the sort. Kinda like what ix does
