Pi phi was the new sorority that FSL brought in
When theta (now IX) was kicked off campus. When they came in, Kappa moved up from the "bottom" rank and pi phi took the bottom rank as the new sorority. Pi phi has struggled to retain members since it came on campus due to social probations, a really snakey incident a couple of years ago, and getting a few mean spirited girls that sour the entire group. Theta came back and was in the bottom spot again, but they did a much better job of retaining members from the very beginning. There is a lot of outward diysfunction in pi phi (members saying awful things about the group, spreading rumors about other groups and girls being blatantly upset on bidday). Theta and Kappa keep up better reputations on campus and present themselves well. Theta and Kappa also recruit a more diverse group of women from all areas on campus. While pi phi girls do great things, we don't hear about their members accomplishments as much as we do from other groups and they don't really go around proud of the fact that they are pi phi. Pi phi girls also don't go out as a group as much and when they do, they don't always go to the more popular/ exclusive parties, so the more outgoing freshmen don't really get to know pi phi girls on a social level before recruitment. Just my own pov going through rush.

First poster got it right. Pi phi was new so kappa got bumped up. They didn’t do a good job recruiting so they stayed bottom. Theta came in and was new but they did a good job recruiting and retaining members and knocked kappa down a rank last year because kappa was just barely hanging on to the spot because they were on campus longer. Overall rankings have shifted a lot but pi phi consistently struggles to recruit and can’t use the fact that their new as an excuse any more because theta has been super aggressive about recruiting and is ranked above kappa which has been around for much longer.

All the girls I met during recruitment who ended up in pi phi were the least friendly by far.

Aphi> phi mu > theta > kappa > pi phi

Sorry but this is just how it is. If you think this is dumb then move on with your life instead of fighting it.

Ok, ok, even if they are legit at the bottom, why not to show some nobility of spirit? Why kick those who are already low? Are you trying so hard to impress some guys from top frats? If so, this is pathetic! (And it is not going to make you happier on a big scale!)

Yea! Not a Pi Phi, bit they def have a sisterhood and support each other. Sending pan love to this group!
