How intense/cutthroat is rush at hopkins? Is it likely that you'll get the sorority you want? And how big are the pledge classes?

It's not cut throat, there's like an 80% chance you will be happy with the sorority you land in and nearly everyone gets a bid. Also, if you don't want to do formal recruitment, pi phi usually does cob because they're small.

pledge classes vary from year to year. Last year they fell mostly at 40. I believe on bid day every sorority got 39 girls, but then most sororities had to snap bid based on quota/ total and the number of girls that dropped.

Agree with this for the most part! Just wanted to point out that fall COB is only offered to sophomores and above, so if the person posting is a freshman, they won't be eligible for COB this fall. Pledge class size is largely based on how many people go through recruitment -- in the past, when more people went through recruitment, PCs were closer to 50 people. They try to split it up pretty evenly among the 5 Panhellenic sororities.

agree with everything above!

Your best bet is to form genuine connections with girls already in sororities, emphasis on genuine. They'll come after you--they'll like your instas and comment on your pics, but they very well may still drop you. If you know several girls in a chapter already, enough so that you might stop to chat with them on campus, your chances will be much, much better. And don't stick to just one, even if you think it's the chapter for you. It never hurts to make friends in a lot of chapters. There are lots of great girls in every group.
