how do frats pick guys?
by: HLike what factors do they consider. Is knowing a lot of the brothers beforehand important?
#3by: yes
Didn't actually go through frat recruitment (I'm a girl), but I dated a guy last year in a fraternity and learned a lot about it from him and my friends who joined frats. Not to be discouraging, but it depends on the frat you're trying to rush. It's hard to get a bid from a "top frat" if you didn't party with them during the fall or didn't meet any of their brothers, while the lower tier frats are a lot less selective. And honestly, I know @how different frats pick's post wasn't entirely serious, but it's pretty on point. If none of those blatantly apply to you, keep an open mind during recruitment but also try to limit yourself to one or two houses. Just talk to the brothers and see which frat you fit with the best.

A lot of things she said are very true. The best advice you can get is to just be outgoing, meet as many brothers as you can. Don't try to make yourself look cool, don't try and make yourself seem like something you're not, because like she said we'll see right through that. Go to rush events, meet and talk to as many brothers as possible, get to know people, and that's about all you can do. At that point it's out of your hands and you just gotta hope for the best. Good luck.
