Depends on the sorority but mostly just if you get along with the girls/would fit in well with the group as a whole

The best advice I can give you during rush is the "be honest with yourself when voting" advice. Not so that you won't end up in alpha phi and end up hating it because you were meant to be a kappa all along or that sort of situation. I think enough people have touched on that. A very common thing that will happen is that a pnm will get invited back to the more competitive sororities for the second day, let it get to their heads, rank the rest of the sororities poorly/ have condescending attitudes at the rest of the parties. Come preference night, the top sororitys have dropped them and the only sorority left is the one they wanted the least because they blew it with sisterhoods that could have been a great fit. PNMs: almost everyone gets invited back for ice water round at every sorority! It does NOT mean they all want you, rather they just aren't sure if the don't want you yet. If you are dishonest with your rankings, you could end up in a worse place than just being in a top sorority that isn't the right fit.
