pros and cons

by: New year Same old

Alpha Phi: top tier- beautiful, fun, party girls. involved. Biggest sorority, GOod GPA. Desired by Frats. Great reputation. Almost nobody drops. Highlet desired and competitive. Cons- cliquey and catty. Some weird girls that were taken just for looks. Descriminatort recruitment.
Phi mu: top tier- beautiful, fun, well rounded girls. Southern sorority vibe. Highest GPA consistently. Very involved. Loved by Frats. Cons- cliquey, "bad" reputation. Some God awful girls. Vanity.
Kappa: middle tier- cute, funny, laid back, cool girls. Tight knit sisterhood and fun to be around. Liked by Frats. Good GPA and reputation. Cons- a lot of drama. On the decline as a sorority. Hardly involved on campus.
Theta: middle tier- pretty, chill, sweet, peppy girls. Very involved. Tight knit sisterhood. Good GPA. well rounded. Most neutral reputation/ little drama. Biggest PC (2016) Cons- small and new sorority. Not as well connected as the other three sororities. A few random girls here and there.
Pi Phi: bottom tier- cute, quirky, friendly girls. Good sisterhood. Strong leadership within panhel at Hopkins. A few really cute girls. A lot of girls who are committed to the sorority and improving it. Decent involvementCons- smallest sorority. Very few connections. Consistently lowest GPA. Smallest PC (2016). Seemingly random mix of girls with no distinct vibe/ sense of unity.

But let's be real. It's Hopkins. The sororitys are all too similar to rank, esp the first four listed.

You are wrong about GPA - some semesters Aphi had the highest GPA, which was emphasized during last year's rush week, a couple of semesters before it was Kappa.Kapoa is not on decline, I would say it's Phi Mu, that on decline. Kapoa is getting stronger, and getting its own identity. They know who they are and what's important, Overall, you gave a spot on and positive review. Although, when you call somebody weird, it makes me think that you are a very basic, a cookie-cutter person, who would label anybody, who has a different personality and life approach, as weird. Everybody can appear weird to somebody. APhi is diverse and takes girls based on their potential to stand out, their leadership attitudes, their social standings, grades, reputation and only then - looks.

The only people who think phi mu is on a decline are the girls phi mu dropped just an FYI

I agree. There is no need to rank sororities. Why ruin it for anybody? All girls who get in into Hopkins are pretty amazing! They must be, it's a very competitive school!

Saying smallest PC or biggest pc as a pro or con doesn't make sense because each sorority gets a quota of girls they can take. They are all the same number give or take 1-3. That's how recruitment works.

Kappa is not on the decline and they often compete for the same girls that aphi and phi mu do, at least more than theta and I think that aphi has more internal drama. Theta has some sweet girls but they usually take girls that pref pi phi and theta and choose theta or pref theta and another sorority but are too low on the other sorority's bid list.

It's funny how "Dude" claims that HIS roommates went Phi Mu. Really? Pay attention when you do self rank, phi mu!
I don't know about this year, but last year phi mu was low on the list of majority of PNMs. FACT.

saying smallest PC (or PC size in general) doesn't matter because each sorority gets a quota of girls they get to take each year that only varies by 1-2 girls so they are all basically the same. same with like sorority size in general-theres a quota and it all kind of evens out eventually. theres might be a different (overll) of like 10 people depending on how many sisters graduated early or how big the senior class was (like phi mu had a ton of sisters graduate last year-theta had a smaller group because it was their charter class) so size doesn't really matter at hopkins

as far as GPAs go, the sororities with lower ones tend to have a lot more girls in STEM majors. juuuuust saying.
