I stayed in this organization just so I wouldn't feel bad about how much money and time I put into it. But I'm miserable. There are several exclusive cliques and if you're not cool/pretty enough, forget about it. So many people have dropped because people are just so exclusive. It's really funny because you'd think they'd WANT to be accepting because we're all on the bottom but some girls act like they're so much better than everyone else. To all those self-rankers: not all of us are happy.

I think you should give it some time. There are some friend groups already simply because they rushed with their friends and ended up in the same sorority. It's only been a couple days and girls join sororities to meet other girls. If after a week or two you feel the same way, you can still drop it but I think you'll change your mind.

Also, these girls joined despite the reputation which shows they are really there for sisterhood. Give them a chance :)

Interesting post. Makes me feel like it isn't a current member because of the way everything was phrased? Exclusive groups? Not being cool/pretty enough? That definitely isn't what Theta sisterhood is about. As a current member, i personally know each woman is super welcoming. I've never felt excluded or weird at an event or meeting, etc. I know if I walk up to any sister, no matter what, they will chat with me and make me feel welcome. I've had hangouts and food with so many different girls, my just my close friends in Theta. If you are a curent member - please reach out in events/Facebook/chapter/anywhere. I would hate to have a Theta feel like that esp knowing how welcoming we truly are.
