deciding to stay or leave-advice?

by:

So when I joined my organization awhile back, it seemed really welcoming-at first. I joined because I love my chapter values. Now over the last year or so, I've really been wondering about why I'm still active. I want to be a good person of the chapter, but things aren't what I originally thought they were. Everyone seems really shallow and only cares about winning, insta likes, and parties. Nobody seems to really care for one another. Those values of our chapter that I love so much are not being fulfilled in my eyes. I'm finding it hard to fit in with this chapter because I'm so shy, and I'm more of an introvert. Yeah parties are fun but I wanted more. People aren't welcoming or inclusive even when I try to make it to all events. I just can't seem to find that connection that I should with my organization. I've been getting involved in a bunch of committees and positions inside my chapter, along with outside clubs just to be able to branch out more and be more involved, and I'm really hoping that my doubts go away so that I can get closer to people and find a connection with my organization, but all that is happening is me being disappointed and overwhelmed. I don't want to disaffiliate because I have such high hopes for my chapter, and so many people expecting me to make it through. I know that these connections will help me in the future and later in life, but I'm starting to wonder if this is true. I feel like I can't talk to anyone about it.

The Balanced Man Program is based on continuous, single-tier development divided between four challenges. Balanced Man Program chapters will have the opportunity to participate in four challenges that progress throughout their entire college experience.

Members in the Sigma Challenge will focus on time management skills and chapter orientation. The Phi Challenge will help emerging leaders develop leadership skills and gentlemanly behavior.

The Epsilon Challenge provides members opportunities to tackle leadership positions within the chapter and campus community, as well as develop a sense of civility. Lastly, members in the Brother Mentor Challenge will focus on their experience after college and will begin developing professional skills for the working world.

I understand ...I am going through the same situation .If it's what you want stick it out to the end ..dont keep going just to please others ..i like being by myself ..so it wasn't a big thing to let go of them stuck up people .i am focusing on my career ...cause In the end Greek life will be a distance memory ..you won't even be involved with half the people in your organization .but give it another try then make a desion

If you don't fit in, leave, because they probably don't want you either. It will make easier for both you and the frat. I know from my frat I wish some guys would just dissafilliate because they don't fit in.
Take care and best of luck!

It's up to you. I joined my organization because I always wanted to belong to one but never had the chance to. My first semester was great but after that when everyone had their group of friends, I found myself liking my organization less and less. I decided to stick it out for another semester but ended up going alum. I don't regret it one bit. Greek life isn't for everyone so don't think there's something wrong with you
