Fraternity recruitment and rush parties start on move-in day essentially (so on Thursday). Most will have more "formal" recruitment events starting sometime durin syllabus week, but if you are interested in rushing, you basically start from the moment you step foot on campus and start introducing yourself around members of the different fraternities. There is usually a restriction on when you can sign your bid if you get it within the first week or two, but whoever gives you a bid should explain that to you
