Kappas have a national rep of not being the typical party girl and a little snobbish. They also have an elitist, wealthy rep. Considered part of the most elite along with PiPhi, Theta, and DDD.
Other national reps...
DDD- very wealthy, achievement oriented
Theta- academic, very popular in the Ivies
PiPhi- philanthropic and elite
ChiO- very Christian, usually not top but not usually bottom either
GPB- nice girls, some very weak chapters though too
KD-strong in the South, weaker elsewhere
Phi Mu- Alabama chapter is known as one of the most well-known elite in the nation, strong in many southern states
APhi- known to rush on looks alone, not at OSU
DG- very popular on the coasts, pretty girls, not at OSU
Zeta- cute girls in most places
AXO- musical, cute and fun
AOPi- popular in the south
ADPi- popular in the south
AZD- idk that much about

Whoever you are, you must be from one of the houses you call the elites. You obviously don't know much about houses around the country because you're wrong on so many of them.

I'm pretty GPB are strong in Missouri and places in Texas. Apparently the poster above doesn't know much about sororities. PKT as it is known(Piphi, Kappa, and Theta) are pretty much known as the holy trinity of sororities nationwide because they are considered the most elite-not always but in many places. They are traditionally the strongest along with DDD. Think old school $ and connections to get in. However, many chapters have fallen because they have had to accept legacies that weren't up to par. DG and APhi have risen nationally as well. Houses are different from campus to campus but it is just kind of the national rep as a whole.

They were established at Arkansas and are one of the most recently established sororities.

The original panhellenic conference was made of of these houses:
Pi Beta Phi
Gamma Phi Beta
Kappa Alpha Theta
Kappa Kappa Gamma
Delta Delta Delta
Delta Gamma
Alpha Phi
AXO and XO were invited but declined. You can see that the members of that first conference were houses that have stood the test of time. Even though we don't have a couple of them here, they're pretty much the cream of the crop.

Those are the sororities in the secret and elite Edgewater Conference that is the force behind whatever Panhellenic does.

Actually, Chi Omega was invited to the first meeting of Panhellenic... Unfortunately, they were unable to attend! Just a little fun fact!
