formal recruitment 2016

by: Fall Rush

How much of a disadvantage does rushing as a sophomore put you at? I really would like to participate in formal recruitment in the fall, but being a sophomore (I heard) will lessen your chance of getting in a house. Is that true?

And make sure that you get to know girls that are actually in sororities. Girls who want you in their house will pull hard for you to be chosen over some random freshman girl they just met.

The odds are not in your favor UNLESS you have exceptional grades your Freshman year, campus involvement AND have become good friends with MULTIPLE girls in the houses you would consider. Being a good friend with just one or two girls from a house isn't enough. You need to get to know as many as you can from the houses you're after. One or two girls isn't enough to pull for you. Even with all that being said, there's still no guarantee. However, you could always try COB.

I know plenty of girls that want to rush sophomore year and they've made a point to get to know sorority girls. It will help a LOT if your grades are up and you know a lot of the girls, and also try to get involved, because they go off of your college transcript.
