out of state bid
by: Out of StateHow hard is it to receive a bid if you're from the north? Especially to the top houses? I've heard some houses have to take girls from other states but idk about the north

It used to be the case that most OSU undergrads were in state so out of state rushees were rare. Now there are a lot of OOS students and lots of OOS PNMs. When you look at the bid list from August, seriously it looked like half the new members were outside of Oklahoma. Don't worry, but get recs, so chapters will have more info on you, since you won't have local connections. Every house takes girls from out of state.

I am an out of state student and I came into recruitment not knowing a single person. I did not have any recommendation letters for any of the houses. No one in my family had ever been part of a sorority/fraternity. I knew it was something I wanted to do, I jumped in head first and did it. I accepted a bid from a "top" house but I did not know that until afterwards. I went into recruitment with an open mind because I did not know anyone or any of the stereotypes. I fell in love with a house and they fell in love with me too. I found my home and you will too so do not stress!! Just be honest and be yourself and you WILL end up EXACTLY where you are meant to be! Good luck :)
