rushing sis update

Instead of tagging onto other discussions, I thought I would just start a thread.
I will say, the experience of rushing at OSU has been phenomenal for my sister. She has had the best time and the girls at parties, while not all connected, have been gracious and kind. Lots of heat relief for them as well. Iced towels, cold drinks, fans, spray deodorant :)
Just got off the phone and she could not contain herself with excitement. She had been cut from her number one choice from last night....and she's happy?
She was quick to assure me it was all ok because after today, she just absolutely LOVED two houses that were tied from last night, and oh how was she gonna choose and hoped and prayed she gets invited back tomorrow, and oh, there is a third house who was kind of a sleeper until today that she would not be unhappy in.
Her story is a great testimony to how the system works and though she's been cut from 2 "favorites", she couldn't be happier.
It's not how I would have written her story but then, she would not have experienced so much personal growth.
Til pref day. lots of prayers for clarity and listening to her heart

Good luck! Is she still with her legacy house? You don't have to say which one so as not to out her. I'm just curious?

If she put her legacy house first then she will likely get it. As far as I know, houses usually put any legacies they have at pref at the top of their bid list.

She loved the three houses she had parties at today. She had wished to be invited back to all three, hoping to get complete clarity before preffing. One was a front runner by a smidge but the three houses all had really great girls in them.

Honestly, so am I. Not that she's not a great girl, because she is, but because she wasn't sure she wanted to rush and had so many misconceptions about sororities that I had no idea how it was going to go. Even being cut from 2 of her pics, she handled it all in stride.

Well, I got a text all in caps "I JUST PREFFED ONG" earlier this evening and low and behold, it's a done deal on her part.
She was invited to three parties today and had such a super day. I'm telling you honestly, she can't contain herself how happy she is and what a great experience this has been. And she's not a high strung person whose hyper, bubbly, oh ma gawd. She's really steady and down to earth. Usually.
One of her parties was to the house where she is a legacy and in the end, that's who she put as first. The other two houses she also really loved the girls and that is a testament to them. It was a hard choice. Same for Zeta and GammaPh. Great girls, just wasn't meant to be. She is completely thrilled with her pref and hopes to get her first choice but would love to have any of them.
We shall see at 11 who chose her too!!!

Does ONG mean she didn't choose one of the sororities? If not, which one is ONG? I thought that was the gas company.

Even though she is a legacy at AXO through our grandmother, our grandmother did not try to influence her. She knew it had to be Sis" experience.
Sis has two really good friends here, her roomie and a gal she met at NSO/ camp cowboy. They all went a different house, tho they had many of the same parties all week.
Her personal group started out with over 60 girls and was down to 30 after girls got their schedules on pref day. Too many gave up in her opinion. Where she ended up IS the best fit for her but as you see if you've seen the other posts, AXO didn't start at #1 every round though they were always high and twice she got cut from 2 of her top picks. She wasn't going to let being a legacy determine where she ended up. KD and KKG that were still on her schedule, were highly considered.
One good friend did chose KD and feels at home. The other is ADPi and feels at home. It truly is about finding your own fit and you may not know your true and best fit until round three, as someone else said.

AXO and KKG are tied, with AXO having just a little edge as of last night. She had an emotional experience there with some girls and she really had a happy heart. She really connected to them both on so many levels. She also really liked the girls of KD and would not be unhappy there, if that is who gives her the bid. But as of last night, I think she would prefer one of the others first.
