honest opinions on betas
by: ?How do people really feel about the Betas? I either hear they are really awesome and girls love them or that they completely blow and nobody likes them. I will be rushing this summer and this post will not change my mind about rushing in any way, I was just wondering how people felt about them.

They pick up a lot of resentment from the frattier houses on campus because they don't exclusively wear southern tide and sperrys, but they're generally very likable guys. Hipster is an easy stereotype to slap on them but I've seen some rednecks and other types of dudes around there. They've won grades the past two years, intramurals for longer than 5 years (I don't know the exact number), .and generally do well in shows The downside is that only about half of the guys party and they don't do a homecoming dec.

I'm in a sorority so I can't speak for Beta, but I personally resent the enormous number of house that I am required to pomp in order for OSU to get publicity as the world's best homecoming. I am in a demanding major and don't really have the free time to devote to such a mindless activity day after day after night. Perhaps we should all be following Beta's example and do a smaller deck or a float and get on with the business of studying. That's why we're in college.
