I am not in a so called top 5 house but I love my house. The top houses aren't for everyone. They are much more structured and the girls seem to be from the same cookie cutter. When I went through recruitment last fall I knew going in that I might not get into a top house due to my gpa (3.18). To the new pnm's please know going in that all the houses are great and you will love being in a sorority regardless of what house it is. You will develop life long friends and will have a blast. Please go in with an open mind and don't be set on a top house or any other houses and you will be fine. You can go to recruitment all stressed or go and have fun. If you go and have fun, the process will go much more smooth for you. I promise that where you end up will be perfect for you and you will love it!

they'll give you examples in the book you get after you register! just keep an open mind and find the place you feel most comfortable. so excited for you to join this great greek system! PLEASE dont refer to this website as any guidelines as to what house you want. 99% of the stuff is not true.

All the houses have pros and cons! As far as the top houses (in no particular order): Chi-o, Kappa, Pi Phi, GPhi and Theta, they take girls with 3.5 and higher gpa and maybe 3 to 5 girls with 3.2 - 3.4. They then look at leadership/community service. Middle houses usually get the girls that have the leadership but don't have the gpa for a top house. Top houses are more strict and structured and that's not for everyone. Just go to recruitment with an open mind and have fun. All the houses have positives and negatives but I promise you will love any house that you join and will make life long friends.

Chi O is in a category of all it's own because they don't necessarily recruit the types of girls that the others of the top 5 recruit. Of the remaining 4, Gamma Phi and Kappa had the highest return rates during recruitment which means they pretty much take the girls they want. Pi Phi and Theta also take top girls with good grades and activities. All the houses here have wonderful girls, and you for sure don't need to stress out about a top house. The person below is right, they are more structured because they want to keep the "top house" standing. I agree, keep an open mind and you'll do fine.
