Every thing you said is true with the exception of Pi Phi. I am a legacy (my mom and grandmother were Pi Phis) and I know for a fact they are on probation. I'm not saying that is a bad thing because i've heard they become a better house from it but i'm going with an open mind.

Chi Omega- Smart girls who are very classy.
Kappa Kappa Gamma-Involved house with gorgeous girls.
Gamma Phi Beta-Pretty girls, like to have fun!
Pi Beta Phi-Very smart girls who are known to be athletic
Kappa Alpha Theta-Pretty girls, seen around campus a lot.
Zeta Tau Alpha-Good mix of girls, and had a very successful year last year
Alpha Delta Pi-Good mixture of girls, they have improved A LOT the last couple of years!
Kappa Delta-Had a good year last year, very spunky girls
Delta Delta Delta-they have improved so much! Definitely getting more involved

Your descriptions are so generic and all the same sounding that no one could possibly get a handle of what any of our sororities are really like.

okay so, with all of the rumors going around about different houses being on probation- i'm wondering if pnm's will be able to find out the real deal during rush...will gamma chis be able to set it straight?

Gamma Phi will talk to you about Gamma Phi. All the houses will tell you about their house. As far as probation Theta was on probation 2 years ago and is no longer on it. There was a rumor about Kappa but they were not on probation with OSU. Their National's came in and made changes not only at OSU but many other campus & Nationally but they are not on probation. Pi Phi was put on probation(not social probation)the end of April & will be on probation until April 2011..they will still do events, etc. Each house will tell you about their circumstances during recruitment. Feel free to ask any house about it because they are the only ones who truly know about their house. The problem about hearing something from another house is it may or may not be true. Every house is only suppose to talk to you about their house. I'd watch out for any house who talks about another house..that's against panhellenic policy and wld be dirty rushing.

yeah i wasnt asking if the gamma phis would tell me about the houses i meant the gamma chis, like the girls who disaffiliate during rush..

also, what is considered a high gpa? or better yet, what isn't considered an okay gpa? sorry for all the questions.

Great questions..they can't talk to you about any of the houses. Their job is to guide you through the schedule & support you. U will not know what house they are in & they are there to help you through the process. The houses that you visit will tell you the truth about their house so just ask. Don't listen to any other house about another house(which shouldn't happen because they could get in serious trouble for talking about another house).The houses won't tell you a lie because if you go with them they will want you to really want to be with them(they wouldn't want you to drop out later).If you are talking about GPA for top5 I would say 3.2 or higher. Every house is different and some figure the GPA w/ core grades only. Most houses take 2 girls that are considered grade risks but they were in a lot of hard classes & are involved in a lot of leadership. Just go & have fun. They want you to have fun! I promise all the houses are good & you will have a great experience.

I would just make sure that you go into recruitment with an open mind because every house offers something different. Also, I would say that the top 5 houses are definitly Chi O, Pi phi, G phi, theta, and kappa and the rest of the houses below that are in no particular order until you get to the bottom of the totem pole, which is phi mu. Regardless of the ranking system though and this pointless website, just remember to go into recruitment with an open mind.
