Chi O being the top house at OSU is a group think. Everyone thinks this is reality.
Take a close look. They are not the prettiest, friendliest or best sisterhood. They get pairings based upon what is expected.

What is your point? Sororities are made up of lots of girls. No house has all the pretty girls, all the friendly girls, or even the BEST sisterhood. Fraternities ask sororities that they enjoy being around and that they think will work hard. If you're in a house you know this. If you're not, why are you commenting?

It's more about which girls go back to them each day during recruitment. There are two houses with stellar return rates and Chi O is at the top of that short list. The other house recruits more on personality and looks and Chi O concentrates on grades. But by and large Chi O gets any girl they invite to come back for more. That's a top house.

Group think is just what the majority of a group of people think. It is absolutely what greek rank measures. People love Chi O and that's why it's considered the top house.

So much for chi-o's being the smartest... Groupthink is a term first used in 1972 by social psychologist Irving L. Janis that refers to a psychological phenomenon in which people strive for consensus within a group. In many cases, people will set aside their own personal beliefs or adopt the opinion of the rest of the group. People who are opposed to the decisions or overriding opinion of the group as a whole frequently remain quiet, preferring to keep the peace rather than disrupt the uniformity of the crowd.

If you're a Chi O alum, then you are an idiot. Your house is being defended against people who think that Chi O is not a good house and that the Chi O clock and years of wins have convinced people to think of Chi O as top even though they aren't any more. Now I agree that it was a bit harsh to tell you to stop ranking houses if you are an alum, it was obviously not a girl from your house who said that. I can't understand why in the world anything on here would make you withdraw your support. You sound like an ignorant weirdo.

Chi O and Gamma Phi, as always. But their having the best return rates doesn't mean that other houses didn't have a spectacular recruitment. I get tired of hearing about what a great recruitment Chi O and Gamma Phi had when others also did great this year.
