I'm a Kappa and Theta legacy. I'm surprised they aren't top tier according to this ranking. How are top tiers determined?

Mostly by how desired they are by PNMs and which PNMs they are able to recruit. All the houses are different, though, and Kappa or Theta might be perfect for you, so don't worry about tiers. Just find the right place for you.

every sorority is different at each school. They all have stellar chapters and they all have struggling chapters.

Please get off this site. Panhellenic and your gamma Chis monitor this and it only gives you false light about each chapter. Choose wherever you feel comfortable and what girls make you happy!

Basically by which house has girls that put out the most. If a frat likes to party with them more than others... they are considered top. It's ridiculous!

I have to disagree with the comments that Kappa isn't good here. They were in my top 2 and many girls in my group loved them! Several girls were torn between them and either Pi Phi or Chi O so I do think they are desired by many PNMs.

Kkg has sweet girls and an undeserved reputation. It's sad that a few embarrassing girls slipped through the cracks last year to bring them down.

Theta and Kappa are top houses. Theta was traditionally the top house until another sorority reported them for playing DUck, duck goose with their pledges calling it hazing. They had a rough few years at the bottom of the top 4. However, their new pledge class is strong and I would now put them in 3rd place. Kappa had a few unruly girls in the past but they have always been top 5 as well. Both houses are hard to get bids from during rush.
