rush

by: sorority hopeful

I'm planning to rush in the fall but wasn't able to make it to Greek Discovery Day. Is it possible to get in a top house without establishing any connections beforehand, or would it be better to wait until sophomore year? I'm a legacy to Zeta (sister at another school). Will this limit me from getting asked back to other houses?

Go ahead and rush now. Many girls don't do GDD and do just fine during recruitment, and rushing as a sophomore could potentially limit your options. GDD just gives you a feel for how rush is going to be rather than forming any connections. And as long as you tell the chapters you are open minded, you shouldn't have a problem with getting let go because of your legacy. Don't worry about it!

Rush as a freshman! If you're worried about your legacy limiting your options don't put it on your form when you register for formal recruitment, just put it on your rec letter for that house. That's what I did!
