Have a Great First Day

I hope everyone had a great first day of school today! That is everyone except the women of Kappa Alpha Theta. They know what they did… and it’s too late to apologize for it now. Think twice before cutting a double legacy.

I know a Theta legacy they carried through 3rd round and cut. Chi o carried a quadruple legacy through 3rd and cut her. This new legacy policy is going to eventually result in alumni donations ceasing.

Legacies are ridiculous anyway. I agree you might lose alumni support. But if so that’s also ridiculous. People should support because it’s important to them not to buy their granddaughter a spot

The problem is that legacy status hurts the chances of the PNM in other houses. They aren’t ranked as high because it is assumed they will pledge their legacy. When that house carries her through 3rd and then drops her, she gets dropped by all houses. If legacy status can’t help you anymore, it shouldn’t hurt you either, but it does. So, it’s a negative on both sides

If a legacy isn’t being strongly considered they should be cut after Open House. I get that there are way too many legacies to guarantee them all a bid, however if they aren’t a fit for the house in question then let them go early in the process.
