it is pretty hard and honestly most people do it with at least a little bit of help from their parents. my best suggestion for jobs in stillwater is serving if you can find a place where tips tend to be good, or doing some kind of clerical/secretary work at the hospital in town or a doctors office if any are hiring because their pay starts higher than most retail jobs and doesn’t really require that much experience. saving money in little ways adds up too because I know the struggle of dealing with dues and rent at the same time. i’m a caffeine addict so I learned how to make good coffee/lattes at home. you may have to say no to retail therapy if that’s something you use to make yourself feel better like i do lol. sororities require you to have certain clothing items for recruitment so you’ll want to save money you’d normally spend for clothing on those and basics that will go with everything. also living in the house typically ends up being cheaper than paying dues on top of rent for an apartment because food is usually included for at least 4 days a week depending on the house, plus you won’t need an osu parking pass
