by: wftPolitics aside, I was under the impression that Greek houses weren’t supposed to voice political opinions. Even if it’s technically allowed, it feels wrong. Though I’m sure most of your members were in favor of those flags, there’s always the possibility that you made one of your brothers feel othered tonight, and to me that is not ok. Those flags were tacky, FarmHouse and I lost a lot of respect for you tonight.

I don’t understand why someone would get upset over someone’s (or a group’s) political ideology. I thought that we came to college to engage in high level discussions with people who we don’t necessarily agree with....but yeah, complaining because someone hurt your feelings instead of having a civil discussion with them will surely fix the problem

for me the problem isn’t dealing with other people’s ideologies because you’re right that’s why we came to college. what i don’t like is that a greek organization is the one expressing those opinions. we’re in social fraternities and sororities not political organizations. i would have had the same problem had they been any other political figure’s flag. politics don’t belong in greek life.

No, I agree with the statement that politics don’t belong in Greek Life. Within your chapter is a great place to have discussions but no chapter should be displaying symbols of either party.

I noticed that too. Someone in the house must have been extremely hurt by their brothers for the house to take these extreme measures on greekrank
