Committing and decommitting

I was wondering if you can decommit from a fraternity. Would it have to be before you sign your bid card? or can it be at anytime before school starts?

Once you sign you should probably try and go ahead with pledgeship to meet the guys and see what happens and if you still don’t like it then drop and maybe try spring rushing. But if you haven’t signed yet then just let the rush guys know you’ve decided to go another direction.

You can verbally decommit and accept a bid from a different house anytime before signing day, after that there are more hoops to jump through

Until July 11th, you haven’t officially actually signed anywhere even if you’ve told the rush team you’re going to “accept” their bid. Verbally accepting means almost nothing.
