Opinions on FSA Awards?
by: WellI know that some fraternities and sororities take pride in being finalists for these awards, or the Dean Zelma Patchin. I'm curious to see if people actually care about these or if they are an accurate representation of the top houses.

The application takes WEEKS to fill out, and houses like KD & XO work SO hard to make sure they do everything they can to place! I’m on exec in a chapter that didn’t place and it sucks, and the redid the entire application to make sure it was fair and once again KD & XO are going to win several categories.

FSA awards don’t really represent the most social houses as much as they represent houses that work hard and have involved and smart members. So just because you get an FSA award doesn’t mean you’re necessarily a top house, but it does mean you contribute a lot to the university

I think FSA awards are a good indication for both councils of who performs well in areas, it’s not like there are any horrible houses winning the awards every year — always the classic middle/upper tier houses everyone agrees with.
If there were awards giving out for how social a house is that would be so embarrassing for Greek Life.
They don’t mean a ton but everyone always complains about the university not recognizing Greeks for the good things we do, so you can’t have it both ways and say the awards don’t mean anything.
