what makes bottom houses bottom houses?

honestly, if you're going through recruitment soon I wouldn't look at greek rank. So much of the things posted on this website is just gossip and drama. Just experience recruitment for what it is and rush whatever house you feel like you fit in. You're gonna hear it often but just trust the process :)

Bottom houses (at least sororities) haven’t really done anything bad. They do the same amount of philanthropy and homecoming stuff and do pretty well at it, but some aren’t as great at shows. They’re just as nice as middle and top tier houses, they just either don’t have the prestige to their name nationally or they haven’t been around as long (2 of them chartered here within the last 10 years). If you like em, great, if you don’t, that’s your deal and doesn’t really affect anything

well tri delt is definitely a bottom house here, but nationally is very good especially with how much they raise for st jude.
the girls in the houses are what give them their ranks, and ranks usually don’t change. ranks usually come from looks, involvement on campus, the frats that like them, the kinds of pairings they get, if they win shows, etc. i wouldn’t necessarily say any sororities here are “bad” but the bottom ranks do fit well in their places here.
