what the hell were those dec placings?
by: fck hocoziji was absolutely robbed of a placing. Sig Ep's looked good but did not follow the theme. AXO/SNU was an understandable placing. AxiD Phi Delt were robbed of a placing especially considering it was phi delt's first year back doing hoco. I'm convinced that whoever judges hoco just wanted to have Alpha gamma rigged not face as much backlash about winning sweepstakes again so they started a DIFFERENT scandal by choosing one of the most uninspired dec's to win first place....

I agree. But AGRs deck wasn’t bad. Pomping was good, engineering was good, theme was followed... I would have placed them at 3rd. Sig Ep didn’t follow the theme at all but it did look good.. hard to place that. Figi definitely should have gotten 1st or 2nd. I think we can ALL agree Sigma Chis was probably the worst deck Homecoming has ever seen.

They just threw Stillwater stuff on their dec that had no real correlation to DC. There was zero thought or creativity to their dec besides slapping OSU on DC landmarks

Fiji/Zeta, Pi Phi/Beta, Kappa/Sig Ep all had much better interpretations of the theme, even Chi-O/ATO had a good theme idea all though it lacked execution in certain areas. People who actually took time to come up with clever and intricate themes with good pomp deserved to place, not just some half assed theme with decent pomp.

Slapping OSU stuff on another place is a very poor interpretation of the theme. Regardless their dec was whack. Left panel, Chi-O clock with a horribly pomped background, no idea what it was supposed to be. Next panel, a huge memorial for Remember the 10, Boone, and the Parade Crash. 1/2 the panel with a solid white background. So much design talent it hurts. Next panel, the white house.. just the white house. Next panel, an out of scale Pete sitting on the Lincoln memorial. I like the concept on this panel, execution was bad. Next panel, the library panel. Moving part was clean and well done, the pomping again was not great. If you think this should have won, you're delusional. Judging clearly values the largest OSU memorial over design skill and execution of the pomp (meaning more time and talent put into the dec).

I can’t imagine being so upset with a house for doing well, that you choose to make fun of the death of one of their brothers. Everyone that upvoted this is equally as guilty. Grow up and get over yourselves.

Actually Nah. Almost none of the frats pomp except their freshman and they don’t give a rip how the pomp looks. Y’all wanna place actually help girls pomp and get involved with more than just the structure. Lazy.

I know several guys in fraternities who aren’t freshman and complained about having to be required to pomp. Just because bottom houses don’t pomp doesn’t mean the top fraternities don’t pomp or care how it looks.

I’ve literally been with the top houses that complain about loosing and never once saw someone older than a freshman in the pomping room. Apparently just because they’re complaining about pomping doesn’t mean they’re doing it.

Just bc you were with sig chi and SAE the last two years doesn’t mean FH and Sig Ep, or other houses don’t pomp

The theme was “as the world turns orange” literally every screen incorporated DC and Stillwater. All their moving parts worked. They followed the theme to a T and won
