fall recruitment

by: help

I recently found out that recruitment deals with your core GPA. I have a 2.8 core and a 3.24 overall and wondered my chances of getting a bid from a good house. I'm heavily involved and have tons of community service but I'm super nervous.

From what I remember Panhellenic uses your core GPA and that would mean that you probably aren't competitive. You have to have a minimum of a 3.0 to be competitive with "bottom tier" houses and at least a 3.2 for middle and top. Having community service might help but probably won't justify offering a bid to a woman with a 2.8. I remember having grade questions before I went through recruitment so I just called Panhellenic. The women were super helpful and could answer all of my questions, so I would try talking to them! Good luck!

If you end up going through recruitment I would't recommend thinking that there are good and bad houses. All of the houses at OSU are great for different women and for different reasons. The right fit for you probably won't be the right fit for someone else. A "good" house is a place where you feel like you belong and can be yourself. (Plus the ranks on here are bs for the most part, make your own decisions....you shouldn't be listening to random people on the internet for what is considered to be a good or bad house.) Again, good luck

You might go through recruitment and meet girls from each of the houses. You'll make friends in your recruitment group as well. If you get a bid - great. If not, study super hard and make great grades your first year and try again before your sophomore year. Then you'll know girls in the houses and you'll have great grades.
