rushing
by: LolI'm an incoming freshman thinking about rushing but I'm not completely sure I should because there is a lack of diversity in a lot of the sororities. With me being African American that concerns me... I just want to know if i'm going to be wasting my time if I do decide to go through that whole process, feel free to be blunt.

You're correct in saying that the Greek community lacks diversity. But honestly I don't believe it will be a waste of your time. Panhellenic is really trying to make improvements to be more inclusive and diverse. A great example is Erica Stephens the new SGA present is African American and Greek (an aopi I think). I genuinely think you should go for it, I don't think you'll regret it.

One reason it's not as diverse as the general population is because fewer African American women go through panhellenic recruitment. If you want to be involved, go through recruitment. There are African American girls in every house, but just not as many as the sororities would like. So go for it!
