by: PanhellenicLoveWhy do people bash Alpha Xi so hard on here? I understand that they are a new house but I feel like we should be giving them more credit. All of the girls I've met are really nice and it feels like they are trying to establish themselves in our community. I guess I just want to know what they could've done to make everyone hate them so early?

For me a big part of being in a sorority is being able to live in house. AOPi got a beautiful house in their first few years on campus but Alpha Xi isn't even in the process of looking for or planning for a house in the future. They also don't have a local philanthropy in Stillwater and I was looking for a house that was involved in the local community. Additionally,I know personally I felt very uncomfortable their during recruitment. Most of the girls had cut the house but had it put on their schedule so they had to go back. I think they have a lot of work to make them a house that girls will want to go to. I don't have anything against the Xi's but I don't know why you would go there especially when there are so many better established houses on campus.

In response to the first comment, two things,
1) There is planning for a house
2) PNMs don't "cut" any chapter. That's not how RFM works. PNMs state the chapters they would prefer not to go back to. Only houses make cuts. If they write down A, B, C and "decline" D, but house C cuts them, then house D automatically reappears on their schedule (unless house D also cut them). The computer does this in order to help PNMs maximize their options and find a home. That's no fault of the chapter.

Lol y'all take everything too seriously. I joined Alpha Xi two years ago as a founding member and can honestly say it was the most rewarding experience I could have asked for. For me, I didn't feel like I really clicked anywhere else during recruitment. I will leave OSU with the best memories with my sisters, and that's all that matters.

That still doesn't change the fact, that the chapter has had a terribly weak recruitment for the past two years, and that IS the chapters fault – they aren't preparing their girls for recruitment and how to recruit girls.
They have a bad attitude and like to pretend that they are above all other sororities. They're pretty girls but they are pretentious as hell
