by: jfioTop houses are going to want to stop competing if they keep this up with giving the bad houses and AGR prizes to make them happy. The best houses are the best for a reason. Someone else needs to be on steering besides AGR's and whoever they are paired with.

I am an alum from a sorority that is represented at OSU but I graduated from a Univeraity out of state. All of that to say that I have no ties to OSU and feel I can be objective. First of all, the efforts of the GLO was unbelieveable! I was beyond impressed! You guys should be commended for your time and effort that was poured into this. Now, what I have to say that I didn't like was that only a few pairs were given a lot of recognition. They need to spread out the awards so that numerous pairings can receive recognition. A LOT of $ and time goes into this and MANY groups that did more than just participate and they weren't even given a nod. That seems unfair and makes it all even more competitive.

There are no "bad houses" at OSU. Shame on you for using such a phrase. It's hurtful and unfair and untrue.
And as far as the house decs, it's a judgment call. One judge might think a perfectly executed dec is more important than complexity. Another judge might reward a more complex project even if some detail isn't perfect.
If you don't like the way the judging went, I suggest you get involved and change things, instead of coming on a site like this and whining.

I totally get that viewpoint but I also see that it's a competition so the houses with the most points should win, not necesarrilly have every house win a different trophy just to make them feel good.
Either way everyone did amazing and every house should be extremely proud regardless of if they won any trophies or not.
