cob and spring rush advice?
by: IntrestedHow hard is it to get into a sorority through COB? Do most sororities participate in spring rush? Is there a process similar to fall formal rush? Advice for either of these? I really regret not doing fall recruitment, but I don't know how hard it is for me to join now. I heard sophomores rushing in the fall have very low chances of getting a bid.

Hi! I joined a sorority during the spring with cob. Cob is your only option for the spring and it can be nearly impossible unless you know someone in a house that is doing cob. Every spring different houses do cob and it is decided around end of December/ January I believe. You can sign up online if you want to do it
I think you should most definitely give it a shot, especially if you know someone in a house that is doing cob. There are a few disadvantages though. I found it very difficult to get to know my pledge class and constantly felt like I would never get to know them. Also, I didn't get an accurate feel of the house and after I was initiated found myself not fitting in at all. I kept wishing I had just waited and done formal recruitment in the fall. If I had done that then I would have had more girls to bond with.
I hope this was helpful and you find your home!
