So wrong. I know at least 10 girls in my house and phi mu that have GPA's above a 3.0. Someone is just jealous their PC isn't as cool as ours

Lol all top houses cut you at a 3.2-3.4. So having above a 3.0 is nothing special. Phi mu took a lot of the beautiful grade risks and ones with questions moral behavior that we heard about prior to coming to osu. Alpha chi didn't meet quota – however I will say they did get some top girls and that is so great for them. But they also took a lot of grade risks and QMBs.
If you're a Gphi then you'd have to have above a 3.3 to even get past the first round unless you're a legacy. Go through recruitment on the other side before you start to act like you know how this process works.

Every sorority at osu has more than its share of beautiful talented sweet thoughtful young women. And every pledge class has girls in it that other sororities wanted badly.

I agree with that. However– phi mu and AXO can't claim they had an outstanding recruitment and that they competed with top houses on campus for the girls that are beautiful, smart and involved when they took as many grade risks and QMBs as they did.
For houses that have such a successful and competitive recruitment – you can even justify taking girls below a 3.3 because return rates are through the roof

I think the point being made is that they had a great recruitment, both axo and phi mu are content with being middle tier houses. I can personally say I witnessed girls prefing middle-tier houses over top houses. and thats fine! top houses are going to have that small number of great girls, so when these awesome, average girls go into preffing they will more than likely pref a middle tier house over a top house that obviously doesn't want them. Don't be threatened by the houses that don't want to be "top" tier.

Recruitment is a mutual selection process. Girls should choose to go to whichever house they want the most. That said, ranking exists because every house wants to attract girls that reflect their house's values. The top houses look for girls that will have excellent grades, connections, recommendations, and activities. They hope to recruit girls who look put together too. They don't need to be physically beautiful, but they do need to be classy and fit. Girls that meet these requirements mostly go to top houses because that's where they fit in best. But there will always be girls like this that go to middle or lower houses because of a legacy or a previous relationship with a good family friend. That doesn't influence "rank" of a house but it's a good thing because it keeps things more equitable.

#1 Pledge class does not = all beautiful girls! A GREAT pledge class, and one you can be proud of, is a group of girls who all have something about them (maybe several things) that will make the house stronger! A stronger house means different things to different people. In my house, we look for girls who are well-rounded. Everyone can't have 4.0 GPA! But, maybe they have a contagious personality and they can dance and sing! Maybe they are very smart and can help those that might fall behind in a class. Sisterhood is about building your sisters up, not tearing them down. That is what I love about my house, and we are not top-tier! And I fine with that!

Beautiful girls does not necessarily equal top pnms. There are lots of pretty girls going through recruitment, but the ones most houses want are those that have something else. Personality, connections, activities, grades, etc., or some combo of those things. That's why you can't believe people who say XYZ got the best class because they're all pretty. The original ranking takes this into consideration by ranking houses that moved up and moved down instead of by looks.

Most of the coolest girls I know are good students but not 4.0, weren't cheerleaders, weren't on student council. They were the girls that those girls are jealous of...the ones that are comfortable in their own skin. The ones hat exude femininity without even trying. And there are a few of those in every house
Those are the real winners!

I think there seem to be a misunderstanding on here. Some are arguing that certain houses have good girls and others are arguing that certain houses have top girls. Both things are true.
Top houses are ones that are required to release the most girls, in other words, the houses that most girls want after each round. That shows how desirable the house is and what makes it a top house.
There are hundreds of girls who will be huge assets to their houses and those houses are rightly proud of their classes. But unless they are one of the two or three houses that are required to release the most girls each year, they are not top houses.

Or people are just being nice and supportive. All houses did great this year. Recruitment was really selective this year so congrats to the Phi Mu and Alphi Chi PC 16
