low invites
by: OSUI have a 4.0, was semi-active in high school, had personalized recs, and from what others say, am "cute." Why did I get a low amount of invites?

Some houses at OSU are extremely selective and have a lot of interst from PNMs. They can cut who they want when they want. Don't worry about how many invites you have received. Continue on with what you have and try to keep an open mind even though it is hard. Don't talk about boys, partying or any of the other houses, either. Be friendly and easy to talk to. If there is a a lull in the conversation, ask questions. Get to know the person rushing you...just my 2cents.

30 minutes for the first step isn't much, especially when you consider the houses are seeing 900+. It is very hard. If my daughter had not gone to Greek Discovery, she would have been completely lost. She only has a few left.
OSU, don't give-up and try the COB. Sounds like that gives everyone a better chance to get to know each other.

I was cut from all but one. The one that remained was not one that I fit into or related to the girls I spoke with. So rather than spend thousands of dollars to be in a place that wasn't a good fit I decided to pass. I'm sure there's some girls who would love that sorority because it was a good fit for them.

OSU, I am impressed with your maturity! I always tell PNMs not to take being cut personally...even if you're cut from several houses. That is so hard to grasp for many girls. But you don't want to pledge a house you don't feel a fit with. Maybe try COB if there is a house you're intereated or join a group within your major. There are many many ways to get involved!!!

OSU-I am so sorry you had a tough rush but let hopefully give you some encouragement.
First, consider COB. It is more relaxed, few girls and more time for the house to get to know you and vise-versa. Not all houses participate but keep that as an option.
Second, in my house, a girl came through and was released. She ended up dropping recruitment for the same reason as you. During her freshman year, she was very active on campus, made great grades and had the opportunity to get to know several girls in different houses. The next year she went through again and every house wanted her. She ended up as president of our house. I know it hurts right now but it doesn't have to be the end of your journey!!

That is very true. Hundreds and hundreds of girls in such a short time. Thank you for your encouraging words. I appreciate it!
