why does osu have informal recruitment for guys?
by: Incoming FreshmanWhy isn't there a formal recruitment week like there is for girls but for guys? I feel like I'm meeting the cream of the crop in these rush chairs, but not getting a real feel for what their whole houses are like. Is there any specific reason?

Probably the most important reason OSU does not have formal recruitment for guys is that all freshman live in the fraternity house. Guys sign bid cards before the deadline to break housing contracts. Yes, some girls will break their contracts if they move directly into the house but that affects very few where fraternities would involved hundreds of guys.
I do think fraternities miss out on some great OOS guys but more frats will have a spring pledge class or pledge guys as sophomores.
The best way to get to know the houses better is to participate in GDD and go visit the houses that night
