importance of legacies?

by: QQ

How seriously do the sororities at OSU take Legacies? Are they viewed more highly in some houses than in others? I hear at some schools it really doesn't matter and at others, if you're a Legacy you really do have a better chance on getting a bid. How does it work at OSU?

Legacies have an advantage IF and only IF the house would have been interested in them anyway. It will set a girl apart from all the girls that might fit in a certain house, but it's not going to be the golden ticket for a girl who isn't a fit.

Best way to describe it. If you have the grades, legacies usually are only guaranteed being kept until the second round at most houses. If you're a legacy because your older sister or cousin is an active member in the house, then you have way more of a chance of ending up there, but I know that all the girls in my house that are legacies would've been in my house whether they were a legacy or not simply because they're a good fit. The only house that I know is very big on legacies at OSU is KD. There may be more that I don't know of though

You're not going to get in a house that you don't fit in just because you're a legacy.
