gpa question

by: Senior

I'm currently a senior in high school planning on rushing a sorority in the fall (or spring, depending on when formal recruitment will be held). I would just like to know what the GPA requirement is for the houses. I read on the Panhellenic website that you have to have a 2.5 to rush, but I want to know the requirements for individual chapters so I have an idea of what goal I should set to give myself as many opportunities as possible. Thanks!

Just do as well as you can. The rush application will ask for your GPA. Sororities want to have high GPAs- it looks good for the chapters. Have the best GPA you can because it will really help you stand out as hardworking- a good asset for any chapter. Plus, Greek life is hard work. Having a great GPA will show you're committed to your studies and less likely to flake out with the time commitments of Greek life and your classes. At the very minimum, a 3.0 OR better.

All regular sorority chapters I think follow by that gpa of 2.5 rule. Since formal rush won't be until spring 2017, you just have to try your best fall of freshman year with getting a good gpa. Like what the person above said 3.0 minimum.
