sorority rushing
by: curiousis it a bad idea to wait until the spring to rush? I really wanna do it but I kinda want to spend this fall getting my GPA up first

I would recommend rushing in the fall because not all sororities do spring rush. This past spring 6/8 sororities did it which is more than most spring rushes, but some only gave out 10-15 bids. If you rush in the fall you will be able to visit all the houses and see where you fit in!

It depends. How low is your GPA? If you have a 2.5-2.7, I'd recommend that you wait until the spring or even until next fall because your options will be extremely limited. Unless you're willing to accept a bid from ANY house on campus (yes, even the ones that have a negative rep) then don't bother going through until you get those grades up. Beggars can't be choosers.
If you have a 2.8-3.0, you'll have more options, but not as many as you would if you had above a 3.0. Pretty much all of the houses prefer to take 3.0+ GPAs. If you have a 3.0+ then definitely go for it and don't worry about grades effecting your chances. If you have a 2.8-3.0, then I still think you should go for it, though you may not get your first choice
