How difficult will it be to get a bid during spring rush for sororities since they only have a certain number of bids? Can someone explain how informal recruitment process works?

I went through recruitment last spring, and honestly it's not that bad! If I remember right there were about 400 girls who went through, and only 4 sororities did recruitment. This year 7/8 are doing recruitment. What happens is you sign up, or just show up to the houses that you want to go to. I would highly suggest going to all of them, because you'll regret not seeing all of them if you don't. Spring recruitment is really informal so you'll have a house tour and you'll just talk to girls! You can come and go as you please, and its entirely up to you. You'll most likely know if you got a bid after the first or second day, you don't have to wait until bid day! Just be relaxed and be yourself.

And I agree with the previous poster ...go to as many houses as you can because some houses will only have a few bids. Also, if you didn't rush in the fall you will want to get an idea of what house would be a good fit for you. Good luck!!

Chi O isn't doing it either. So everyone but Phi and Chi O are recruiting. Spring is much more competitive since there's less bids to give out, and most of the houses already know who they want because girls who are already friends with a lot of sisters usually end up going through. You should still rush, but if you don't get a bid you can still do fall rush. Definitely check out every house!
