rush

i am going to be a transfer sophomore next year. is it weird for a sophomore to rush a frat? or is it pretty easy to make friends without rushing

You can get into any house as a sophomore but it is a serious disadvantage. better interview at some bottom tiers just in case. bottom tier frats wont care at all but mid and top tier frats will care.

clearly stated you can get into any house as a sophomore. but a freshman will have an advantage over a sophomore. Some fraternities will take every kid that rushes. Example Pike. 50+ pledges. But some are more competitive and age is a factor. WVU rush is not nearly as competitive as the SEC but some top tier fraternities are selective.
