which chapters are the pickiest with girls?
by: PnmCurious to how many spots the sororities have and how selective each chapter is, I’m so scared of not getting a bid

So in general based off former pledge classes,
Phi, chi o, SK and kappa can afford to be picky. They all have very high retention rates meaning that almost 100% of PNMs choose to return but that doesn’t mean they keep all those PNMs. It depends on how many spots they have open. Usually after spring graduation, these chapters have roughly 80-90 girls, and if their PC numbers are consistent they will take between 35-50 girls each this recruitment. Smaller chapters can’t really afford to be picky, because they need to keep their numbers up. This is why chapters like Pi Phi and DG hold informal recruitment.

If you maximize all of your options and you give everyone a fair chance then you will likely get a bid. The girls who don't get bids usually have their heart set one chapter or they're just over confident and "suicide". There are definitely more selective chapters (like someone else said, they can afford to be)and whether or not you get a bid to one of them is anyone's guess. There are so many different variables and each chapter has their own selection process. But every chapter has something to offer and if you are open to that you will be fine.

Everyone took quota last year and I think the difference between the biggest chapter at WVU and the smallest is like 15 so there really isn’t that big a difference in size.
And if you maximize your options, go back to as many houses as you can, through preference, you will get a bid. Girls who get wrapped up in who dropped them and don’t give other houses a chance are the ones who end up without a bid.

All these responses are stupid. Quota is decided by the campus. Chapters have to make quota or get considerations and final decisions based on their chapters. Stop acting like some places get to be "picky" or not, it's literally not a thing. If a sorority does informal recruitment it means they need more girls to reach campus quota, it's not a choice.

AOII and Pi Phi were the only ones that held informal this year. Dg didn’t have to just like everyone else and in the past couple years even SK and Xi did informal. Phi took a small pledge class this spring too which is technically informal because they didn’t have enough girls so...
